The Central West Streamliner
On Saturday 27 July 2019 we operated our first mainline tour to help raise funds towards the restoration of CL17. Southern Shorthaul Railroad's 1952-built streamliner B61 led the train from Sydney to Lithgow supported by the Lachlan Valley Railways' locomotive 4716. At Lithgow 4716 was replaced by GM10 - of similar vintage to B61 and also owned by Southern Shorthaul - and the train continued on to Bathurst where most passengers then headed into the town for lunch. The train then headed on to Georges Plains as a special shuttle for locals before returning to Bathurst and continuing on to Sydney. Go to our Contact page to enquire about future tours.
Cootamundra work sessions
Our CL17 project team hold working weekends at the Cootamundra compound approximately once or twice a month, depending on availability. Go to our Contact page to enquire how you can get help.
