Streamliners 2022

Around 2,000 people from all walks of life joined us at the Goulburn Rail Heritage Centre over the October 2022 long weekend. Read here how it all happened.

The Central West Streamliner
On Saturday 27 July 2019 we operated our first mainline tour to help raise funds towards the restoration of CL17. Southern Shorthaul Railroad's 1952-built streamliner B61 led the train from Sydney to Lithgow supported by the Lachlan Valley Railways' locomotive 4716. At Lithgow 4716 was replaced by GM10 - of similar vintage to B61 and also owned by Southern Shorthaul - and the train continued on to Bathurst where most passengers then headed into the town for lunch. The train then headed on to Georges Plains as a special shuttle for locals before returning to Bathurst and continuing on to Sydney. Go to our Contact page to enquire about future tours.

Streamliners 2016
The event where it all began - the first of its kind in Australia and one of only two such events to have ever been held in the world. Find out what happened here.
